Our story

Born on the coast, built for community.

Coastal Sculpt takes the energy of a boutique Pilates class out of the studio and into Charleston’s most beautiful places.

Fitness that feels like a morning out with friends.

We’re two Charleston instructors who fell for mat-based sculpt training — the small, deliberate movements, the deep burn, the way it leaves you feeling long and strong.

We also love this city: the marsh at golden hour, wine bars with perfect patios, rooftops and waterfronts. Coastal Sculpt puts the two together. Every pop-up is a 45-minute, full-body workout somewhere you’ll want to stay — followed by a sip, a shop or a sunset with people who quickly become friends.

From weekly pop-ups to bachelorettes and brand partnerships, our goal is simple: you leave every class stronger, more energized and more connected than when you arrived.

Meet the founders

Katie & Maggie

Co-founder

Katie

Originally from Richmond, Virginia, Katie has always loved movement, community, and making people feel their best. With 7 years of experience teaching barre, fitness has been a big part of her life for years. Outside of the studio, Katie works in marketing, bringing her creative side into everything she does.

Coastal Sculpt was born from her love of movement, music, and bringing people together in fun, beautiful spaces. She loves creating classes that feel challenging but approachable, where you can work hard, have fun, and leave feeling stronger than when you walked in.

When she’s not teaching or working, you can usually find Katie with her yellow Lab, Millie, somewhere around Charleston. Millie is basically the unofficial Coastal Sculpt mascot—and Katie wouldn’t have it any other way.

Co-founder

Maggie

Originally from Savannah, Maggie moved to Mount Pleasant five years ago from Atlanta and quickly found a love for the community here. She’s been teaching fitness, including barre and yoga sculpt, for over six years and loves the energy that comes from moving together.

Fitness has been a constant for Maggie through some of life’s harder seasons. Both teaching and taking classes helped her through times of grief and showed her how movement can bring people together. That feeling is what inspired her to co-found Coastal Sculpt: a place to work hard, have fun, and feel connected.

When she’s not teaching, Maggie loves spending time with her husband, their four-year-old daughter, and their goldendoodle, Murphy.

The method

Low impact. High burn.

Each class blends Pilates principles with barre-style sculpting: core-centered control, time under tension and small ranges of motion that work the deep stabilizing muscles.

  • Warm up — breath, posture and mobility
  • Sculpt — standing and mat work with a ball and light weights
  • Burn out — the finisher you’ll feel tomorrow
  • Stretch — a slow cooldown, ideally facing the water

What we believe

  • Rooted in Charleston

We partner with local venues, makers and small businesses.

  • Community first

Come for the class, stay for the people. Most regulars came alone the first time.
